About This Call
This is an open call to artists for an international juried exhibition of prints at Site:Brooklyn, located in the heart of the Gowanus Arts district in Brooklyn, New York. The exhibition will reflect the ambitious, innovative and contemporary in printmaking today, highlighting traditional printmaking processes in any combination of serigraphy, letterpress, collagraphy, etching, woodcut, lithography, linocut, drypoint, mezzotint, monoprint and solar plates. Digital and photographic elements may be used only as a supporting element. The exhibition runs October 14 – November 13, 2016, with an opening reception on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 6-9PM.
The juror is Kathy Caraccio, a Master Printmaker for 39 years who has worked with artists including Romare Bearden, Louise Nevelson, Emma Amos, Mel Bochner and Sol LeWitt. She has taught at NYU, Columbia University, Parsons/New School, Pratt and is currently a printmaking professor at the National Academy. She is the founder of K. Caraccio Printing Studio in New York City.
Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years of age or older. Entry fee is $35 for up to three images, plus $10 for each additional image (minimum 3, maximum 12 images). Only original works may be submitted. Notification of acceptance will be made via email by August 30, 2016. A return confirmation of participation is required by September 5, 2016 to hold a spot in the exhibition. Accepted work must be maximum size 48" X 60" X 4" D, professionally framed, wired and ready for hanging, and priced for sale. Site:Brooklyn will retain a 40% commission on all exhibition sales. $1000.00 in prizes will be awarded.
