2nd Annual Dirty South Cup Call & Competition

The 2016 Dirty South Mug Competition is a national, juried exhibition. Up to 125 artists will be chosen to display traditional or non-traditional ceramic mugs at River Oaks Square Arts Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. The exhibition runs April 8 - May 28, 2016.

Eligibility and Requirements: Open to all artists working in clay and residing in the United States. Work may not be larger than 10" x 10" x 10". Mugs, cups, and tea bowls are accepted in both functional and non-functional, traditional and non-traditional styles. All work must be for sale with no single piece exceeding $500 in value. Artists will pay a 30% commission to the gallery on all sales. Entry fee is $25 per artist for up to three entries. Digital entry only in JPEG format, 5MB maximum. Artists are responsible for shipping and insurance costs to and from the gallery and must include a return label. Weight limit is 15 lbs. Works will be insured for 50% of stated value from delivery through the end of the exhibition.

Awards: First Prize $500; Juror's Choice: 4 awards of $125 each. The top 20 artists will be considered for "exhibiting artist" designation in future invitational shows hosted by ROSAC. Guest juror is Kristen Kieffer, a full-time studio potter with a BFA from Alfred University and MFA from Ohio University. Acceptance notification: February 26, 2016. Delivery of work deadline: March 18, 2016 by 5pm. Return of artwork: June 17, 2016.
