29th Annual Members Juried Exhibition

The Griffin Museum of Photography invites submissions from active members for the 29th Annual Members Juried Exhibition, themed "Under the Mask." This exhibition celebrates the craft of photography and invites photographers to submit work about the psychological, social, and emotional results of the last three years. Artists are invited to submit work made since 2020.

Submissions are open from February 1st through March 1, 2023. The entry fee is $35.00. Applicants must be members of the Griffin Museum of Photography with current membership through April 30, 2023. Members at the dual/family level ($75) or above may submit up to 8 images; other members may submit up to 5 images. All images must be submitted as jpeg files, sized to 1200 px on the longest dimension (72 dpi), in Adobe RGB or sRGB color space only. The museum welcomes all creative artists using photography as a primary medium, including still images, moving images, installation, public works, experimental and mixed techniques.

The exhibition runs April 20 - May 28, 2023, with an artist reception on April 21, 6:30 - 8pm. The juror is Lisa Volpe, Curator of Photography at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Awards include: $1,000 Arthur Griffin Legacy Award, $500 Griffin Award, $100 Honorable Mentions (5), two Exhibition Awards, and one Director's Prize with exhibition and catalog. Selected artists will have opportunities for online artist panels, a curator in residence portfolio review with the juror, and a potential slide show evening event. A catalog and online digital showcase will be produced. Artwork must be framed and ready to hang; artists pay shipping to and from the museum.
