About This Call
The 29th Annual Gateway to the Rockies Art Show is a juried art competition open to all artists 18 years and older. The show runs October 30, 2024 – December 13, 2024 at Aurora Central Library, 14949 E. Alameda Parkway, Aurora, CO 80012.
Artists may submit up to three images in each of three categories: Two-Dimensional artwork, Photography, and Miniatures, for a maximum of nine total entries. Entry fee is $45.00 for three images, with an additional $5.00 per image after the first three. AAG members receive a $10.00 discount. All artwork must have been completed within the last five years and cannot have been shown in any previous Gateway Art Show. Two-Dimensional and Photography pieces must be hand-delivered; Miniatures may be mailed via USPS with return postage included. Work samples must be submitted as JPEG files (1200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB) through the CaFE website.
Key dates: Entry deadline is September 2, 2024. Acceptance notices will be emailed by September 30, 2024. Take-in for accepted artwork is Saturday, October 26, 2024, 10 am – Noon. The reception and awards ceremony are Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, with the awards ceremony at 3:00 pm. Artwork pickup is Saturday, December 14, 2024, Noon – 2 pm. Jurors are Shelly Grogan (2-D and Miniatures) and Peggy Dietz (Photography). Awards include Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention for Two-Dimensional and Photography; 1st and 2nd for Miniatures. A 20% commission on sold work goes to the Aurora Artists Guild, with 5% of that donated to the City of Aurora Central Library.
