About This Call
The 28th Parkside National Print Exhibition takes place February 14 - July 28, 2023 at the Emile H. Mathis Gallery in the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts & Humanities at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. This is one of the longest-running competitive print exhibitions in the Midwest, founded in 1987 by printmaking professor Doug DeVinny. The exhibition features original prints from artists nationwide with no size limitations. A public reception, announcement of awards, and juror's remarks will be held Thursday, March 2, 4-6 pm. A full-color catalog will accompany the exhibition, with each accepted artist receiving a complimentary copy.
Eligible artists must be 18 years or older and currently residing in the United States. Prints must utilize traditional, hand-pulled media, including hybrid works combining hand-pulled techniques with new media forms. Prints must have been created within the last two years and arrive exhibition ready. There are no size restrictions. 3D prints and prints employing alternative display methods will be considered. If providing framed works, they must be framed in Plexiglas (not glass) if shipped.
Entry fee is $30 (non-refundable) for submitting up to three works (one image per work). Awards include $1,000 Best in Show, $500 second place, and $300 third place, selected by juror Barry Carlsen, printmaker and co-founder of Vox Populi Print Collective. Application deadline: December 14, 2022. Notifications to artists: January 3, 2023. Deadline for works delivered to gallery: February 1, 2023.
