About This Call
The 28th Annual Gateway to the Rockies Art Show is a juried art competition open to all artists 18 years and older. The exhibition runs November 9 – December 16, 2023 at Central Library, 14949 E. Alameda Parkway, Aurora, CO 80012.
Artists may submit up to nine images total across three categories: Two-Dimensional (maximum 3), Miniatures (maximum 3), and Photography (maximum 3). All artwork must have been completed within the last five years and cannot have been shown in any previous Gateway Art Show. Entry fee is $45.00 for three images, with an additional $5.00 per image for submissions beyond three. AAG members receive a $10.00 discount on the entry fee. All entries must be submitted through CaFE by September 1, 2023. Acceptance notices will be emailed on or before September 29, 2023.
Two-Dimensional and Photography artwork must be hand-delivered on Saturday, November 4, 2023 (10 am – Noon). Miniatures may be mailed via USPS with return postage included. Artwork must be suitably framed and wired, with minimum size 8" x 10" and maximum outside dimension of 30" on any side. The reception and awards ceremony is Friday, November 10, 2023 (5 – 7:30 pm, awards at 6 pm). Jurors are Valorie Snyder (2-D and Miniatures) and Kristal Kraft (Photography). Awards include Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mentions for 2-D and Photography; 1st and 2nd for Miniatures. A 20% commission on sold work goes to Aurora Artists Guild, with 5% of that donated to Central Library. Artwork pickup is Saturday, December 16, 2023 (Noon – 2 pm).
