About This Call

The 27th Parkside National Print Exhibition takes place May 4–October 2, 2021, at the Fine Arts Gallery of the "Rita" at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. This is one of the longest-running competitive print exhibitions in the Midwest, founded in 1987. The exhibition features original prints from artists nationwide with no size restrictions. A public reception, announcement of awards, and juror's remarks will be held Thursday, September 23 at 4 pm. A full-color catalog will accompany the exhibition, with each accepted artist receiving a complimentary copy.

Eligible artists must be 18 years or older and currently residing in the United States. Eligible prints utilize traditional, hand-pulled media, including hybrid works combining hand-pulled techniques with new media forms. Prints must have been created within the last two years and arrive exhibition ready. Framed works must be framed in Plexiglas (not glass) if shipped. 3D prints and prints employing alternative display methods will be considered. The entry fee is $30 for submitting up to four works. The juror is John Hitchcock, Artist, Professor of Art and Associate Dean of Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Awards include a $500 Best in Show award selected by the juror and announced at the reception. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the gallery and must supply return shipping labels. Accepted work will be insured while on exhibit, but the University will not be liable for damage or loss in transit. Works may be listed as either for sale or not for sale; there will be no sales through UWP, but interested parties will be put in contact with artists. Works cannot be removed from the exhibition prior to the closing date. By entering, artists grant consent for submitted images to be reproduced for publicity and educational purposes, including in the exhibition catalog.
