Accepted mediums include oil, oil sticks, pastel, acrylic, watercolor, casein, gouache, and egg tempera. Work must be original in concept and execution, impressionistic in style, and completed within the last three years. Work done in any class or under instructor guidance is not eligible. AI-generated or AI-enhanced artwork is not eligible. Paintings must be created from the artist's own photographs, not from commissioned or other photo sources. No diptychs, triptychs, or multiple panels are accepted. Maximum size is 900 square inches with a maximum length of 36 inches on the longest side. Artists may submit up to three paintings, but a maximum of one painting per artist may be accepted into the show. Work must not have been previously accepted in any AIS exhibition.
Work must be suitably framed in fine art gallery-quality wood frames, wired and ready for hanging. No metal frames, gallery wrap canvases, or sawtooth hangers are permitted. Floater frames are acceptable. Plexiglass is recommended over glass. Entry fees are $39 for one painting, $49 for two paintings, and $59 for three paintings, paid via credit card on ShowSubmit. All work must be for sale with pricing according to the artist's standard pricing structure. The sales commission is 60% artist, 40% Mockingbird Gallery. Jury results will be emailed June 8, 2026. Accepted work must be shipped to Mockingbird Gallery between August 24 – September 1 in approved commercial boxes. Unsold work will be shipped back by November 3. The judge of awards is Calvin Liang AISM. Best of Show award is $13,000 cash, with over $100,000 in total cash and awards presented.
