27th Annual Messina Hof Texas Artist Wine Label Competition

The 27th Annual Messina Hof Texas Artist Wine Label Competition is the centerpiece for the 33rd Annual Wine & Roses Festival on April 22, 2017. Messina Hof is celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2017 with the theme "Celebration!" Artists are invited to create artwork inspired by everyday celebrations—the small moments in life that bring quiet tears of joy or shared bursts of laughter.

Top Finalists will receive an invitation to display and sell artwork at the Wine & Roses Festival on April 22, 2017 at Messina Hof with a complimentary booth (over 2,000 people expected in attendance) and an invitation to the VIP Reception from 12:00pm-1:30pm. The 1st place winner receives $1,000, artwork displayed on Messina Hof wine labels with the artist's name and title, permanent display in the Messina Hof Gallery, an invitation to the Harvest Grand Finale Dinner in August 2017, and a Messina Hof Traditional VIP membership. The 2nd place winner receives $250 and a VIP membership. The 3rd place winner receives $100 and a VIP membership.

Eligibility: Artists must reside in Texas and be over 21 years old. Medium is open to any 2D medium including watercolor, oil, pastel, pencil, acrylic, collage, multimedia, and digital art. Artwork must be visually big and bold and adhere to the "Celebration!" theme. Entries cannot contain faces of people, trademark symbols, words, flags, military or governmental insignia. Digital submissions are due March 3, 2017. Finalists will be notified March 10, 2017 and must submit framed physical artwork by 5:00pm on April 14, 2017. Festival attendees will vote for winners on April 22, 2017. Results will be announced April 28, 2017. Remaining artwork must be picked up by 5:00pm on May 13, 2017. Entry fee is $25 for the first digital submission and $20 for each additional submission. All proceeds are donated to The Arts Council.
