About This Call

The 26th Parkside National Print Exhibition will be held April 1 – June 30, 2019 at the Fine Arts Gallery of the "Rita" at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. This is one of the longest-running competitive print exhibitions in the Midwest, founded in 1987 by printmaking professor Doug DeVinny.

Eligible artists are 18 years or older and currently residing in the United States. Submissions should be original prints utilizing traditional, hand-pulled media, including hybrid works combining hand-pulled techniques with new media forms. Prints must have been created within the last two years and arrive exhibition ready. There are no size restrictions. 3D prints and prints employing alternative display methods will be considered. The entry fee is $30 for submitting up to four works. A $500 Best in Show award will be selected by juror Sarah Smelser, Professor of Art at Illinois State University. A color catalogue will be produced for the exhibition, and each accepted artist will receive a complimentary copy.

Application deadline is February 8, 2019. Notifications to artists will be sent February 26, 2019, with works due to the gallery by March 20, 2019. A public reception, announcement of awards, and juror's remarks will take place Thursday, April 11, 2019, 5-7pm. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the gallery and must supply return shipping labels. Works may be listed as for sale or not for sale; the gallery retains a 20% sales commission for sold works. Accepted work will be insured while on exhibit, but the University will not be liable for damage or loss in transit.
