About This Call
This is a juried exhibition open to current or new paid members of AIS who are legal US residents. Membership dues of $65 must be paid prior to entering. Artists may submit up to three paintings, with a maximum of one painting per artist accepted into the show.
Eligible media includes oil, oil sticks, pastel, acrylic, watercolor, casein, gouache, and egg tempera. Work must be original in concept and execution, impressionistic in style, and completed within the last three years. Work done in any class or under instructor guidance is not eligible. Work painted from reference photos must be created from the artist's own photographs. No mixed media, collage, photography, digital work, oil pastels, colored pencils, AI-generated work, digitally manipulated work, painted giclee prints, or reproductions are accepted. Diptychs, triptychs, and multiple panels are not accepted. Entries may not have been accepted in any previous AIS show, including online exhibitions.
Work must be suitably framed in fine art gallery-quality wood frames, wired and ready for hanging. No metal frames, gallery wrap canvases, or sawtooth hangers are permitted; floater frames are acceptable. Maximum size (excluding frame) is 900 square inches with a maximum length of 36 inches on the longest side. Minimum size is 5 x 7 or 35 square inches. All work must be for sale and priced according to the artist's standard pricing structure. No NFS or POR accepted. Artists receive 60% of sales; Cassens receives 40%. Entry fees are $39 for one painting, $49 for two paintings, and $59 for three paintings, paid by credit card. Entry fees are nonrefundable. Submissions must be high-quality JPEG files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Images should be cropped to show only the artwork with no visible matting, frames, or background. For questions, contact Liz Ahrens at [email protected].
