About This Call
The 26th Annual Gateway to the Rockies Art Show and Sale is a juried art competition open to all artists 18 years and older. The show will be held November 5 – December 3, 2021 at Community College of Aurora, Fine Arts Building, 16000 E. Centretech Parkway, Aurora, CO 80011.
Artists may submit up to nine images total across three categories: 2-D (maximum 3), Miniatures (maximum 3), and Photography (maximum 3). All artwork must have been completed within the last five years and cannot have been shown in any previous Gateway Art Show. Entry fee is $45.00 for three images; additional images are $5.00 each. AAG members receive a $10.00 discount. All entry fees are non-refundable. Entries must be submitted through CaFE by September 1, 2021. Acceptance notices will be emailed by September 21, 2021.
Accepted 2-D and Photography pieces must be hand delivered on Saturday, October 30, 2021, 10 am – Noon. Miniatures may be mailed via USPS with return postage included. Artwork must be suitably framed and wired, with minimum size 8" x 10" and maximum outside dimension of 36" on any side. File submissions must be JPEG format, minimum 1200 pixels on longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, under 5 MB, with no frames or mats visible in the image. Jurors are Virginia Unseld (2-D and Miniatures) and Scott Wilson (Photography). Award certificates will be given for Best of Show, CCA Award, and AAG Award in each category. A 20% commission on sold work goes to the Aurora Artists Guild. Artwork pickup is Saturday, December 4, 2021, Noon – 2 pm. Contact [email protected] for questions.
