26th Annual Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA) International Exhibition

The 26th Annual Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA) International Exhibition is open to living artists 18 years or older, regardless of geographic location. There is no preferential treatment for CPSA members versus non-members. The entry fee is $25 for CPSA members and $35 for non-members, with each fee covering one or two entries. The deadline for entries is 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time on March 31, 2018.

Artwork must be 100% colored pencil on a manufacturer-prepared surface (scratchboard not allowed). Acceptable additions include solvents and graphite pencil used under, between, or over colored pencil layers, with no pure exposed areas of graphite allowed. Artwork must be two-dimensional with no collage or montage. Concept, design, and execution must be solely that of the artist. No work copied from copyrighted or published materials, no collaborations, and no work copied from someone else's photograph. Artwork must have been completed after March 31, 2015, and not previously hung in any CPSA International Exhibition. Artwork must be ready to hang by wire with no saw tooth hangers. If glazed, use plexiglas only—no glass or clip-on frames. Outside frame dimensions may not exceed 32 x 40 inches. Mats must be white, off-white, tan, gray, or black. Frames should be simple in design.

Accepted artists will pay a $65 cartage fee to CPSA. Artwork must be shipped using UPS, FedEx, or DHL in sturdy reusable cartons with no loose packing materials. Numerous monetary awards and the CIPPY Best of Show award are presented each year. In 2017, cash awards totaled $16,300. Award winners will be notified by telephone no later than July 15, 2018. The exhibition is held at Bridgeport Art Center, Third Floor Gallery, 1200 W. 35th Street, Chicago, Illinois. The gallery is open Monday through Saturday 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. and Sunday 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. with no admission fee.
