About This Call
The 25th Annual Gateway to the Rockies Art Show and Sale is a juried exhibition open to all artists 18 years and older. The show runs October 30 – December 6, 2019 at Community College of Aurora, Fine Arts Building, 16000 E. Centretech Parkway, Aurora, CO 80011.
Artists may submit up to nine images total, with a maximum of three images per category: 2-D artwork, Photography, or Miniatures. All artwork must have been completed within the last five years and cannot have been shown in any previous Gateway Art Show. Entry fee is $45.00 for three images; additional images cost $5.00 each. AAG members are eligible for a $10.00 discount. All entry fees are non-refundable. Submissions are made through CaFE at www.callforentry.org using JPEG files no smaller than 1200 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, and under 5 MB. Images must show only the artwork with no frames or mats visible.
Key dates: Entry deadline is September 1, 2019. Acceptance notices will be emailed by September 25, 2019. Take-in for accepted artwork is Saturday, October 26, 2019, 10 am – Noon (2-D and Photography must be hand delivered; Miniatures can be mailed). The reception and awards ceremony is Friday, November 1, 2019, 5 – 7 pm, with awards at 6 pm. Pick-up for artwork is Saturday, December 7, 2019, Noon – 2 pm. Jurors are Bonnie Stolzmann (2-D and Miniatures) and Tom Heywood (Photography). Award certificates will be given for each category plus Best of Show, The Kate Tauer Award, CCA Award, and an AAG Award. A 20% commission on sold work goes to the Aurora Artists Guild, with 5% of that donated to the Community College of Aurora scholarship fund.
