About This Call
In celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence, the City of Coral Springs Public Art Program will temporarily display up to four artworks throughout Coral Springs for one year. These artworks will be officially unveiled at the May Community Concert on May 1, 2026, and featured as a key element of Fourth of July celebrations at Mullins Park. At the end of the one-year period, one artwork or artwork series will be purchased for permanent display at Coral Springs Veterans Park as part of the Coral Springs Public Art Collection.
Temporary display locations include Mullins Park (10000 Ben Geiger Drive), City Hall Great Lawn (9500 W Sample Road), and Veterans Park (8601 Royal Palm Boulevard). The permanent display location for selected artwork(s) is Veterans Park (8601 Royal Palm Boulevard). The Public Art Committee may select one artwork or series to purchase for a total value of $55,000 or less. A $5,000 honorarium will be awarded. Artwork must be installed by April 30, 2026.
Artists should submit pre-existing artworks. Visual themes should celebrate the history and heritage of the United States and the mission and core values of Coral Springs. Proposed artwork must exclude any imagery or themes that could be interpreted as aligning with a political party or other political agendas. The sculpture must be able to be installed on grass or cement art pad on-site and be capable of withstanding South Florida's subtropical climate with intense sun, heavy seasonal rain, and high-speed winds. The artwork should be durable, require minimal maintenance, and be self-supporting on an open landscape or hardscape. Applicants may submit up to 4 applications. Work samples may include 1-5 images and up to 1 video (1-6 total samples required).
