24th Annual Gateway to the Rockies Art Show

The 24th Annual Gateway to the Rockies Art Show & Sale will be held October 3 – November 2, 2018 at Community College of Aurora, Fine Arts Building, 16000 E. Centretech Parkway, Aurora, CO 80011. The entry deadline is August 1, 2018.

Artists may submit up to nine images total, with a maximum of three images per category in the following categories: Two-Dimensional Artwork, Photography, and Miniatures. Entry fee is $40.00 for three images; each additional image costs $5.00. AAG members are eligible for a $10.00 discount on the entry fee. All artwork must have been completed within the last five years and cannot have been shown in any previous Gateway Art Show. Artwork must be original and not copied from copyrighted material or photographs, except those taken by the artist. Two-Dimensional and Photography submissions must have a minimum size of 8" x 10" and maximum outside dimension of 36" on any side. Miniatures have a maximum size of 36 square inches, with maximum frame size of 100 square inches. All entries must be submitted through CaFE at www.callforentry.org using JPEG files no smaller than 1200 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, and under 5 MB.

Acceptance notices will be emailed on or before August 23, 2018. Take-in for accepted artwork is Saturday, September 29, 2018, 10 am – Noon. The reception and awards ceremony will be held Friday, October 5, 2018, 5 – 7:30 pm, with awards at 6 pm. Pick-up for artwork is Saturday, November 3, 2018, Noon – 2 pm. Award certificates will be given for each category plus Best of Show, The Kate Tauer Award, CCA Award, and an AAG Award. A 20% commission on sold work goes to the Aurora Artists Guild, with 5% of that donated to the Community College of Aurora scholarship fund. Jurors are Aimee Deneweth for 2-D and Miniatures, and Joe Bonita for Photography.
