23rd Annual Wills Creek Exhibition of Fine Art

The Allegany Arts Council invites artists to submit work for its 23rd Annual Wills Creek Exhibition of Fine Art, a juried exhibition celebrating contemporary and innovative art. The exhibition will take place in the Saville Gallery in Cumberland, Maryland from September 3-24, 2022, with a public opening on September 10, 2022 at 6-8 PM. One-third of selected works will be three-dimensional. The competition awards $4,000 in prizes: Best of Show ($1,500), First Place ($1,000), Second Place ($750), Third Place ($500), and Honorable Mention ($250). The 2022 exhibition theme is "Metamorphosis."

Artists of all mediums and genres are eligible to apply. Entries must be original works completed within the last three years and not previously exhibited in the Saville Gallery. Works may be two or three-dimensional and must not exceed 48" in width/84" in height. Two-dimensional works must be framed and wired for hanging. All works must be for sale. No more than two works per artist will be accepted. The entry fee is $30.00 for the first entry and $10.00 for each additional entry, up to six entries per artist.

Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and are encouraged to obtain shipping insurance. Works will be insured for 65% of stated value while onsite. The gallery retains a 35% commission on all sales. Artwork delivery is August 23-27, 2022 (or by special arrangement). Artists must include a prepaid shipping label with returning artwork; those without a prepaid label will be charged a $10.00 handling fee.
