About This Call
The Tarleton State University Department of Fine Arts announces the 23rd annual Rio Brazos Juried Art Exhibition, juried by Diane Durant, artist, educator, and writer. Open to all varieties of media, this exhibition curates exemplary contemporary work from artists around the country. All proceeds from the exhibition go to scholarships for the Art and Digital Media Studies program at Tarleton State University.
The exhibition opens April 9, 2021 at the Dora Lee Langdon Cultural & Educational Center in Granbury, Texas and runs through May 2. The exhibition is sponsored by Tarleton State University, the City of Granbury, and numerous local and regional businesses. Over $3,000 in artist awards are anticipated. The juror will select up to 50 images for exhibition, with awards including: The David and Claudia Southern Award for Best in Show ($1,000), up to 3 Juror's Selection Awards ($500 each), and up to 5 Honorable Mention awards ($100 each).
Entry fee is $40 for 3 images, with additional images at $5 each. Submit 3-10 images. The exhibition is open to artists 18 years of age or older. Work must have been made in the last 3 years and not previously featured at Rio Brazos exhibitions. All work entered must be available for sale; a 25% commission is collected upon sale. Framed and hung 2D works may not exceed 50" in any direction or weigh more than 12 lbs. Three-dimensional works may not exceed 60" in any direction. Accepted work must be gallery ready and ready to hang. Artwork must arrive by March 27, 2021 via prepaid return shipping or hand delivery.
