23rd Annual Exploring the Light Photo Show

The Exploring the Light Photo Exhibit at the Lone Tree Arts Center invites local photographers to create a visual collage of different styles, subjects, and sentiments. The 2025 exhibition features five categories: Landscape, Leading Lines, Motion, Portraits, and Wild Life. Photographers may submit up to 3 entries with a non-refundable $36 entry fee per application. Separate applications are required for each category entered.

Individual images are juried through a blind review process by juror Cheryl Opperman. Invited images are then juried for awards based on final presentation including image quality, content, frame, mat, and tile. Total cash awards are estimated at $3,350, with awards for first, second, and third place in each category, plus Best of Show and People's Choice. Winners receive gallery space at the Lone Tree Arts Center for several weeks following the show.

All images must be gallery-ready (canvas wrap, metal, acrylic, wood, floating or other frame) and meet gallery quality standards. Paper prints must be matted and covered with clean plexiglass or glass. Images must be undamaged, reinforced with hardware and picture hanging wire (D-rings installed 1/3 from top, wire strung taut), and not exceed 48x48 inches framed or weigh more than 35 lbs. All accepted images must be for sale, with the Lone Tree Arts Center retaining 20% commission. Images must have been completed within the last 3 years and not previously shown in a Lone Tree Photo Show. Photographers must deliver and retrieve work in person during designated times: drop-off March 25th, 3:00pm-6:00pm; pick-up June 23rd, 3:00pm-6:00pm. The exhibition runs March 27th – June 22nd, 2025.
