22nd Arts in Harmony 2017 Annual International Show

The 22nd Arts in Harmony 2017 Annual International Show is an international exhibition open to all living artists. The main exhibition will be held at Blaine City Hall, 10801 Town Square Drive, Blaine, MN 55449, from Tuesday, January 31 – Thursday, March 30, 2017 (business hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; after-hours viewing 4:30 pm - 9:00 pm Monday–Friday and 8:00 am – 9:00 pm Saturday). A traveling show will be hosted by the American Swedish Institute, 2600 Park Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55407, from Sunday, April 9 – Sunday, May 21, 2017.

Eligible media includes paintings (oil, acrylic, and watercolor), pastels, drawings, hand-pulled prints, mixed media, fiber, photography, ceramics, glass, sculpture, and sequential art. No copies, class work, or fragile work are accepted. Entries must be original work not previously exhibited in an Arts in Harmony show. Inappropriate subject matter, including nudes, is not acceptable. Artists may submit 2–10 images for jurying; a maximum of three artworks may be selected for exhibition. Entry fees are $35 for two images and $5 for each additional image. Maximum horizontal dimension is 45 inches; up to six works with dimensions of 60 inches may be accepted if juried into the show. Free-standing sculpture must fit through a standard door and be light enough for a manual dolly. All hanging work must be properly framed with a hanging wire (no sawtooth or photo hangers). Drawings, prints, photographs, watercolors, and batik not under glass or plexiglass must be fixed to a backing board.

Accepted artwork may be hand-delivered or shipped. In-person drop-off is Friday, January 27, 2017, 11:00 am – 4:30 pm and Saturday, January 28, 2017, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm at Blaine City Hall. An early in-person drop-off fee of $10 per artist applies before Friday, January 27, 2017. Shipped packages must include prepaid return shipping labels and are subject to a $15 per box handling fee. Packages are accepted from Monday, January 2 – Friday, January 27, 2017. Notification of acceptance is Monday, December 5, 2016. A reception will be held Sunday, February 5, 2017, 1:00 - 3:30 pm at Blaine City Hall, with awards presentation beginning at 2:15 pm. $12,250 in awards are available, distributed over 50 awards.
