22nd Annual Will's Creek Exhibition of Fine Art

The Allegany Arts Council announces a Call for Entry for its 22nd Annual Will's Creek Exhibition of Fine Art, a juried exhibition that will take place in the Saville Gallery located in Cumberland, Maryland from September 4-October 2, 2021. The exhibition celebrates talented and innovative artists whose work is contemporary, thoughtful, and uniquely portrays the world where we live. One-third of the selected works will be three-dimensional. The competition awards more than $4,000 in prizes: Best of Show ($1,500), First Place ($1,000), Second Place ($750), Third Place ($500), and Honorable Mention ($250). Artists of all mediums and genres are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility is national. The entry fee is $30.00 for the first entry and $10.00 for each additional entry, up to six entries per artist. No more than two works from any artist will be accepted. Entries must be original works completed within the last three years and not previously exhibited in the Saville Gallery. All works must be for sale. Two-dimensional works may not exceed 48" in width/84" in height and must be framed and wired for hanging. Three-dimensional works may not exceed 48" in width/84" in height. No substitution, exchange, modification, or withdrawal of works is permitted after acceptance.

Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and are strongly encouraged to obtain shipping insurance. Works must include a prepaid return shipping label; artists without a prepaid label will be charged a $10.00 handling fee. While onsite, works are insured for 65% of their stated value. The gallery retains a 35% commission on all sales. The public opening is September 11, 2021, 6-8 PM with awards at 7 PM. Artwork delivery is August 26-29, 2021. The entry deadline is July 15, 2021 at 11:59 PM MDT, with notifications on July 30, 2021. The juror is Laura Roulet, an independent curator and writer specializing in contemporary and Latin American art.
