About This Call

Eligibility Requirements: Works must be created entirely in soft pastel (no oil pastels; mixed media must be at least 80% soft pastel). Artwork must be original, created from the artist's own reference, and not copied from other artists or published materials. Work done in classroom, workshop, or online group settings is not eligible. Artwork must have been created within the past 2 years and not previously exhibited in any Pastel Society of Colorado show. All work must be for sale (no NFS). Once entered, paintings cannot be submitted to other shows or sold unless rejected. Artwork dimensions must be between 8 and 40 inches in any dimension (excluding mat and frame).
Submission Details: Entry deadline is midnight on January 29, 2026. PSC Members may submit up to 3 paintings for $45, plus additional paintings at $10 each. Non-Members may submit up to 3 paintings for $60, plus additional paintings at $15 each. Fees are nonrefundable. All entries must be made through ShowSubmit.com. Submit high-quality JPEG images at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge, maximum 30 MB file size, with only the artwork visible (no mat, frame, or background).
Awards and Sales: The exhibition offers over $4,000 in cash awards and approximately $6,000 in merchandise awards, including Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, Honorable Mention, and specialty awards. Only one award per artist (excluding merchandise awards). Up to 2 paintings per artist may be accepted. Artists receive 50% of sales; 40% commission goes to the venue and 10% to PSC. Sales tax is added to sales. Artists will be notified by email no later than January 29, 2026. Accepted paintings must be delivered framed, glazed, and ready to hang to gallery-quality standards between March 10-14, 2026. All work must remain on display for the full exhibition duration.
