21st Annual Exploring the Light Photo Show

The 21st Annual Exploring the Light Photo Show invites local photographers to exhibit work at the Lone Tree Arts Center. Photographers of all ages are eligible to enter up to 3 original images completed within the last 2 years that have not been shown in a previous Lone Tree Photo Show. Images must be non-offensive to a general audience of all ages and cannot display the artist's name or identifying marks on the front.

Submissions are juried by blind jury review, with awards based on image quality, content, frame, mat, and tile. Total cash awards are estimated at $3,350. Winners in each category (Landscape, Astro photography/Nightscapes/Scenes, Animals Wild/Domestic/Captive, Composites, Portraits, Sports, Drone/UAV, and Travel/Wanderlust) receive first, second, and third place awards, along with Best of Show and People's Choice recognition. Award-winning photographers receive gallery space for several weeks after the show. The 2023 juror is Shannon Squires-Towes, a nationally recognized award-winning photographer and Professional Photographers of America award recipient.

All accepted images must be delivered gallery-ready (canvas wrap, metal, acrylic, wood, floating or other frame) and ready to hang with proper hardware and picture hanging wire. Images must not exceed 48x48 inches framed or weigh more than 35 lbs. All images must be for sale, with the Lone Tree Arts Center retaining 20% commission on sales. The entry fee is $35 (non-refundable), payable via credit card or check. Drop-off is April 4th from 5:00pm-7:00pm, and pick-up is June 6th from 3:00pm-6:00pm. The exhibit runs April 6th – June 5th, open Monday through Friday 10am-4pm and 2 hours prior to performances. With photographer permission, accepted entries will be featured in a book available for purchase online after the show in July.
