20th Annual Mile High International Pastel Exhibition

The 20th Annual Mile High International Pastel Exhibition is a juried show open to pastel artists 18 years of age or older. Work must be original and completed within the last two years, not previously shown in any Pastel Society of Colorado exhibitions. Artwork's final surface must be predominantly (80%) traditional dry pastel. Work done under supervision in a class or workshop is not eligible. Duplicate paintings are not accepted. If collage materials are used, they must be created by the artist.

Entry fees are $45 for up to 3 paintings for PSC members, plus $10 each for additional paintings up to 6 total. Non-members pay $60 for up to 3 paintings, plus $15 each for additional paintings up to 6 total. Entries must be submitted through ShowSubmit.com by midnight on March 25, 2024. Submit high-quality JPEG images at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge, with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Images should show only the artwork itself, cropped without matting, frames, or background.

Up to 2 paintings per artist can be accepted. Artists will be notified by email no later than April 12, 2024. Accepted paintings must be delivered framed, glazed, and ready to hang to gallery quality standards between May 1-8 via FedEx or UPS, or delivered in person May 9-11, 11am-2pm to Foothills Art Center – Astor House, 822 12th Street, Golden, CO 80401. Artwork must be between 8 and 40 inches in any dimension (not including mat and frame). All work must remain for the duration of the exhibition and is for sale. The exhibition offers over $4,000 in cash awards and approximately $6,000 in merchandise awards, including Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, four honorable mentions, and two specialty awards. Sales are handled by Foothills Art Center with a 40% commission (artists receive 60%, 20% to venue, 20% to PSC). Artists will be paid within 30 days of the end of the show.
