2027 Exhibition Proposals

Bountiful Davis Art Center invites artists and curators to submit exhibition proposals for shows taking place from 2027 through early 2028. The center seeks innovative, diverse, and engaging work reflecting contemporary ideas and traditional talent that fosters connection with the community. Artists and curators from all media and career stages are encouraged to apply, with special welcome extended to those in early to mid-stages of their professional journey.

Proposals are welcome in all media, including painting, sculpture, photography, installation, digital art, performance, fiber, and mixed media. Artists may apply for a solo exhibition or submit a curatorial proposal for a large-scale group show. Out-of-state submissions are welcome. Guest curators, especially those interested in interdisciplinary or community-focused work, are also encouraged to propose.

Two curated group exhibitions are planned: Food, Nourishment, and Cultural Memory (mid-2027) invites exploration of food's role as sustenance, symbol, ritual, and connector across cultures and communities, welcoming works from bodegón painting to contemporary conceptual, performance-based, abstract, or mixed-media practices. Textile as a Cultural Tool: Identity and Community (early-2028) explores textile as both material and method, inviting submissions including weaving, embroidery, quilting, dyeing, fiber sculpture, installation-based work, and experimental textile approaches. Artists not proposing solo shows may submit individual works or small groups aligned with these themes for consideration in group exhibitions.

Submission requirements include an artist statement (1-3 paragraphs), exhibition information (summary, target audience, proposed layout, costs), number and dimensions of works, special display requirements, images labeled with title and artist name, and a $20 non-refundable submission fee. Applications open April 21, 2026 and close June 29, 2026 at 11:59 pm. Jury selection occurs June 30-July 21, 2026, with artist notifications via email on July 24, 2026.
