About This Call

The Art Around the Corner Foundation (AACF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the arts, enriching the community, and bringing fine art to Southern Utah. Now in its 22nd year, AACF recruits world-class, professional artists to participate in a unique "art-on-loan" program. Each year, the Foundation selects and installs approximately 35 new sculptures throughout Historic Downtown St. George, creating a vibrant cultural experience that is freely accessible to the public year-round. Sculptures are exhibited for one year and are available for sale or lease to public and private collectors. More than $1,000,000 in sales have been generated to date, including acquisitions by local businesses and the City of St. George for its permanent collection.

The Foundation seeks original artwork that is visually engaging and encourages public interaction, is large-scale sculpture appropriate for public spaces (minimum 24 inches in height and/or diameter), demonstrates strong imaginative design and content, incorporates durable, sustainable concepts and materials, and does not require electricity, audio/visual technology, water, or other ongoing resources. All work must meet public safety, structural, and maintenance standards and comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and all applicable laws, codes, and regulations. Artists may submit a maximum of two pieces for consideration, with only one piece of art per application. Each application requires a $25 entry fee.

Applications must be received by 11:59 PM MST on November 7, 2025. Each application must include three to five photos of the specific sculpture (or a detailed sketch if not yet complete, with final photos due by January 31, 2026), title and description (150 words or less), material, size, and weight information, and artist biography and headshot (150 words or less). Artists must demonstrate prior experience creating work of comparable scope and scale. All materials must withstand Southern Utah's variable climate (25°F to 115°F), be structurally sound, sturdy enough for public interaction, and free of sharp edges or hazardous elements. Selected artists will receive a $1,000 stipend. This program is open to all artists regardless of race, creed, gender, gender identity or variance, sexual orientation, national origin, age, religion, marital status, political opinion or affiliation, or mental or physical disability.
