2026 Winged Feet Exhibition and Auction

The Hopkinton Center for the Arts and 26.2 Foundation invite artists to submit proposals for Winged Feet, a project celebrating the Boston Marathon. Selected artists will create painted or decorated winged foot sculptures that will be displayed on the Hopkinton Town Common from April 3 through April 26, 2026, and then auctioned to benefit both organizations.

Accepted artists will receive a flat winged foot cut out of Versatex (approximately 2 feet wide by 3 feet high) and a $500 stipend from a randomly assigned local business sponsor to cover art materials. Designs must be family-friendly and weather-resistant. Artists should paint only one side of the foot, ensuring the foot points to the right so all sculptures face the same direction. Any weather-resistant materials may be used, including acrylic paint, assemblage, or mosaic. Assemblage and mosaic work must be coated in resin to be weather-resistant. Non-local artists are responsible for shipping costs and insuring their work in transit.

Artists of all ages are welcome to apply. The submission deadline is January 31, 2026. Selected artists will be notified by February 5, 2026. Blank winged feet must be picked up at HCA (98 Hayden Rowe Street) between February 9-13, 2026 during business hours. Completed artwork must be dropped off on Friday, March 21 or Saturday, March 22, 2026, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Non-local artists must ship their work to arrive by March 22, 2026.
