About This Call
The Department of Visual Arts at University of Louisiana at Lafayette is accepting submissions for the 2026 Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition. This exhibition is open to currently enrolled UL Lafayette students with a declared major or minor in Visual Arts or Art. Any original artwork may be submitted, whether a class project or completed independently. All media is accepted. Work must be produced within the last two calendar years. Each student may submit up to three works for a $25 fee. One image per entry is required; the juror will request additional images of 3-D works if needed.
The juror for this year is David Wolske, a typo/graphic designer, artist, and educator whose interdisciplinary practice combines letterpress and printmaking with digital tools and design thinking. Award winners will be selected based on originality, creativity, and technical skill. Awards include Best of Show ($500), Second Place ($250), Third Place ($150), and two Honorable Mentions ($100 each). One or more additional Honorable Mentions may be selected without a prize.
All entries must have a completed entry label attached and be display ready at submission. Works on paper should be framed with picture cord or wire, or presented with a neutral white window mat and foam board backing. Works on canvas should be framed or mounted on stretcher bars. Large-scale works (30" or larger) may be presented without frame or backing but must include visible hanging means and precise instructions. 3-D works will be displayed on pedestals or the floor as appropriate. Time-based media such as animations or videos may be submitted on flash drive formatted to play on the gallery computer and will display on continuous loop during open hours. The exhibition runs March 19 – April 2, 2026, with an opening reception on March 19 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Fletcher Hall Gallery. Work drop-off is March 16 & 17 between 9 AM – 4 PM, and pickup is April 2 between 8 AM – 12:30 PM. This exhibition is sponsored by Blick Art Materials.
