About This Call
The Transparent Watercolor Society of America presents its 50th National Exhibition, running from May 2 through August 2, 2026, at the Kenosha Public Museum in Wisconsin. This national exhibition is open to residents of North America 18 years of age or older who are TWSA members in good standing with 2026 dues paid. Works must be original, created after January 1, 2023, without supervised instruction.
Entries must be transparent watercolor painted in a transparent manner on a single piece of rag or wood pulp paper free of pigment and embedded materials. Maximum frame size cannot exceed 50 inches on any side, with minimum image size of 8 x 10 inches or 80 square inches. Simple, neutral frames are preferred with white or off-white mats. The exhibition excludes opaque white paint, gesso, gouache, acrylics, inks, metallic or iridescent materials, watercolor crayons, collage, and digital enhancements.
The entry fee is $25 for one or two images (Life Members enter free using code TWSA4Life). Jurors are Carrie Waller (TWSA, AWS, NWS) and Stewart White (AWS). The exhibition includes workshops June 3-5 and June 8-10, public demonstrations on June 6th, and an awards reception and dinner on June 6th at 5:00 PM. Notifications will be sent in the first week of March, with accepted paintings due at the museum April 10-17.
