2026 SculptureWalk Sioux Falls Call for Art

SculptureWalk Sioux Falls invites artists of all backgrounds to apply for the 2026 downtown exhibition. The organization welcomes submissions from emerging, mid-career, and established artists working in all styles and materials. Artists may submit up to five original sculptures with a $25.00 entry fee. Sculptures must be original, appropriate for public display, and suitable for long-term, year-round outdoor exhibition in the South Dakota climate. Each sculpture must have a steel base plate (minimum 3") with four mounting tabs spaced 90° apart for secure installation. SculptureWalk will not accept entries identical to sculptures currently installed or scheduled within 200 miles of Sioux Falls, or previously exhibited sculptures that are resubmitted.

All selected sculptors will receive a $1,500.00 honorarium. A blind jury of local industry leaders will award Best of Show prizes based on artistic merit; the Best of Show sculpture will be purchased by the City of Sioux Falls for up to $30,000.00. Public voting determines People's Choice winners: 1st Place – $3,000.00, 2nd Place – $2,000.00, and 3rd Place – $1,000.00. Artists receiving three Best of Show or People's Choice awards earn SculptureWalk Virtuoso Certification and a $2,000 honorarium toward a future exhibition. Artists traveling more than 150 miles to Sioux Falls for installation weekend will receive a travel stipend up to $500.00 and a complimentary two-night hotel stay. SculptureWalk retains a 25% commission on any sculptures sold or commissioned and provides liability and Inland Marine insurance coverage on all accepted sculptures.

Applications close October 1, 2025. Notification of selection results will be provided November 3, 2025. Installation weekend is May 2-3, 2026, with an artist reception on May 2nd from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Shipped sculpture delivery deadline is April 17th, 2026, with on-site delivery May 1st from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
