About This Call
The Ohio Arts Council in partnership with the Friends of the Library and Columbus Metropolitan Library presents the annual Ohio Artist Registry Juried exhibition, featuring work from artists registered in the Ohio Artist Registry. The 2026 exhibition is themed "Commemorating America 250," honoring the nation's 250th anniversary by exploring America's history, culture, and future through the perspectives of Ohio artists.
The juried exhibition will be presented in the Patrick Losinski Gallery at the Columbus Metropolitan Library's Main Library from July 2 to September 19, 2026. Three Juror's Choice awards of $500 each, provided by the Ohio Arts Council, will be selected by a panel comprised of a professional Ohio artist, a Columbus Metropolitan Library staff member, and a representative of the Friends of the Library. Entrants must be living residents of Ohio, 18 years or older, and registered in the Ohio Artist Registry with an active public profile. OAC and CML employees are not eligible. Registration in the Ohio Artist Registry is free and must be completed by the April 24, 2026 deadline.
Applicants may submit one application with up to two works. Images can include two views per artwork. A 250-character statement and a 125-word plain-language visual description must be provided for each work. All mediums and themes are welcome; works engaging with the "Commemorating America 250" theme will receive special consideration. Work must be original and created within the past three years, suited for public display with no nudity or profanity, and not previously displayed at the Patrick Losinski Gallery. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional works are accepted and may not exceed 6' by 6'. Two-dimensional work must be wired and ready to hang and may not exceed 35 pounds each. Work must be dry, and suspended work will not be accepted. Notifications will be emailed the week of June 8, 2026. Artwork drop-off is Saturday, June 27, 2026, 12 p.m. - 4 p.m., with shipped works arriving the week of June 22nd and no later than June 26th. Artwork pickup is Monday, September 21, 2026, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., or at the conclusion of the closing reception on September 19th. All artwork should be delivered and picked up at the second-floor information desk at the Main Library, 96 S. Grant Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43215.
