2026 Members Show

The Northwest Pastel Society invites current 2026 members to submit work for the 2026 Members Show, held at Matzke Fine Art Gallery and Sculpture Park, 2345 Blanche Way, Camano Island, WA 98282, from June 6 – July 5, 2026. The exhibition will be juried by Karla Matzke and judged by Teresa Saia. Notifications will be emailed by April 15, 2026. The opening reception and awards presentation will be held on June 6, 2026.

Eligibility: Open to current NPS members only. Work exhibited in previous NPS shows or that has won top awards (Best of Show, first, second, or third place) in other international, national, or regional shows is not eligible. Accepted artwork may not be exhibited concurrently in other shows or competitions. All entries must be for sale and realistically priced. All artwork must be executed in dry pastel (hard to soft pure pigment pastels, not oil pastels). Mixed media is permitted when the artwork's final top surface is at least 80% traditional dry pastel. All artwork must be original in concept and completed within the past 3 years. No collaborative, classroom, paid-mentor critiqued, or instructor-assisted work. AI assistance is not permitted unless the source is the artist's own photo or artwork.

Submission Requirements: Members may submit up to 3 paintings with one painting guaranteed to be included, provided it meets eligibility criteria. Maximum frame size is 1,300 square inches for SIGNATURE or DP members, and 210 square inches for REGULAR members. All accepted artwork must be framed and surface protected by clear glass or high-quality clear acrylic. Artwork must be professional in appearance and ready to hang with strong wire and flat metal hangers. Submit images online at ShowSubmit without mat or frame visible. Images must be at least 1920 pixels @72 dpi on the longest side, in JPG format, under 4 mb, and sRGB color space. Framed dimensions are required upon entry. Entry fee is $40 for up to 3 images and is nonrefundable. Deadline for entry is March 30, 2026.

Delivery and Awards: Deliver accepted framed artwork to Matzke Gallery on May 24, 2026, between 11 am and 3 pm, or arrange regional drop-off through NPS, or ship directly at artist's expense and liability. A 50% commission will be collected by Matzke Gallery on all sales. Awards total $3,000 in cash and merchandise: Best of Show ($1,000), President's Award ($750), Director's Award ($500), Best Small Work ($250), NPS Memorial—Jayne Quig Award ($250), and 5 Honorable Mention Awards.
