2026 Los Muros on Main: Midvale City Mural Festival

The Midvale City RDA is working with artists and the community to transform Midvale's Historic Main Street into a vibrant arts and culture district. The Los Muros on Main: Midvale City Mural Festival invites artists to participate alongside makers, local breweries, musicians, and visitors. The Midvale Main Arts & Culture District also hosts LetterWest and Food Truck Tuesdays, and includes the Midvale Performing Arts Center and the Art House, which houses affordable art studios in the old Midvale City Museum building.

The RDA will award a stipend of up to $4,500 to each commissioned mural artist or team of artists who are US citizens. Stipend amounts are dependent on wall size and cover artist fees and expenses for design, supplies, equipment rental (excluding equipment provided by the Agency), insurance, and installation. The RDA will cover the cost of lifts, ladders, or scaffolding, and will power wash and prep walls before installation. Murals selected to require anti-graffiti coating will be provided with the material by the Agency and applied by the artist upon completion, with an additional $150 payment for application. For artists living outside Utah's Wasatch Front, an additional per diem of $150 per day will be provided for lodging, food, and transportation for up to six nights and seven days during installation. Artists located outside Utah will receive $350 to subsidize travel costs.

Artists must be available to paint between June 4-13, 2026, with all artists required to begin painting no later than June 8, 2026, and complete by June 13, 2026. Artists must communicate start dates to RDA staff and property or business owners. At least one member of each artist team is required to attend the Los Muros on Main: Midvale City Mural Festival to finish the mural and engage with festival attendees. Application deadline is February 26, 2026 at 11:59 PM MST. Artists will be notified of selection by March 16, 2026, and must sign artist agreements and submit required documents by March 27, 2026. Mural designs must be completed for approval by April 9, 2026. Work samples should include 8-10 images.
