2026 Hit the Hop Show - Studios on High Gallery

Studios on High Gallery, located in the Short North Arts District since 1987, is the oldest artist-owned and operated gallery in Columbus, Ohio. The gallery presents Hit the Hop, an annual open call, juried exhibition for Ohio artists. Accepted artists will be featured in a month-long group show, gallery hop, and artist's opening from April 4th through April 30th, 2026.

Artists are invited to submit work exploring the interaction between light and matter—how it reflects, glows, casts shadows, and transforms what it touches. All mediums are welcome, including original two-dimensional and three-dimensional visual artworks and photography. Work must be completed within the last 3 years. Two-dimensional artworks may not exceed 25" in length or width (including frame); three-dimensional artworks may not exceed 40 lbs. Only JPG images will be accepted. The entry fee is $35 for up to two works, due at submission and non-refundable. All entries are due by 11:59 PM on March 6, 2026. Acceptance notifications will be sent via email on or before March 18, 2026.

Accepted artists will receive prizes: $500 first prize, $200 second prize, and $100 People's Choice prize, announced at the artist reception on April 5th. Accepted work must be hand-delivered April 1-2, 2026 between 12 PM and 5 PM. All 2D work must be framed and ready to install with hanging wire, or on gallery-wrapped canvas (at least 1" depth with no visible staples and painted sides). Artists are responsible for picking up work on May 1st, 2026 between 12-5 PM or by appointment. Studios on High Gallery takes 25% commission on sold work and will handle artwork with care, though insurance is the artist's responsibility. Artists are responsible for shipping if work is sold.
