About This Call

The 2026 Coors Western Art Exhibit and Sale is a nationally-recognized contemporary Western art exhibition curated by Denver-based curator Kate Hlavin. The exhibition will feature up to 80 artists and will be held at the National Western Stock Show in Denver, CO. The show accepts fine art in any media (2-D or 3-D) that reflects the West as it is today or investigates a contemporary idea or depiction of the West. Artists are selected for the quality of their body of work, and many are invited back year after year. The exhibition will move into the Legacy space in 2026, a new high-end venue.

Submit 6-10 images of original work with Western subject matter or spirit. Accepted formats include paintings, prints, sculptures, photographs, and fine art digital photographic prints on archival paper. Etchings and prints in small editions are considered, but offset prints and giclee reproductions are not accepted. Each submission must include titles, prices, medium, and sizes for all artwork. Work should be current (created within the last year) and not previously shown in a retail setting or offered for sale in a gallery in Colorado (exceptions apply for sculpture). The application fee is $35.00, with a deadline of April 1, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Results will be sent by June 1, 2025.

Accepted artists will exhibit up to five works total, including major works and small works (roughly 144 square inches or smaller for 2-D and 12 x 12 x 12 inches for 3-D). Small works will be designated as part of a silent auction during opening events. All artwork must remain on display for the entire exhibition duration and be available for purchase with no pre-sales allowed. Artists receive a 70% commission on sales. Artwork must be framed and ready to display. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from the show; insurance is provided while artwork is on site. Work must arrive in November 2025, with unsold pieces released or shipped after January 30, 2026. Exhibition dates are January 10-25, 2026, during the National Western Stock Show, with opening events in January 2026.
