About This Call
The Central Mass Pastel Society invites members in good standing to submit work for the 2026 Members Show, celebrating and honoring work at any stage of the painting journey. The show runs online from April 23 to May 22, 2026, with an awards presentation via Zoom on April 23 at 6:00 PM Eastern.
Judge of Awards is Adrian Giuliani, an international award-winning pastel artist and Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America. Awards include: 1st Place $375, 2nd Place $275, 3rd Place $175, Developing Artist Award $150, and 1-3 Honorable Mentions of $75 in each category at the judge's discretion. All members in good standing are eligible for awards. Artists who qualify as Developing Artists (those who have not been accepted to any national or international pastel show requiring 80% or more soft pastel) may be considered for the Developing Artist award category if they indicate this during submission.
Registration opens March 6, with submissions closing April 6 at 11:59 PM EST. The submission fee is $30 for up to 2 pieces. Work must be at least 80% soft pastel, less than 3 years old, and based exclusively on the artist's own photo reference, life set-up, plein air experience, concept, and composition. Work must be directly drawn or painted by the artist and not created under the guidance of an instructor. Work previously shown in another CMPS show or that has won a top award in any national show is not permitted. Artists may price work for sale or mark it Not for Sale; work marked for sale must be available exclusively through CMPS during the show dates. CMPS retains a 15% commission on sales. For submission help, contact [email protected] or 888-666-1351. For questions about the prospectus, contact [email protected].
