2026 Call for Artists - Artist Exhibitions at Mountain View Center for Performing Arts

The City of Mountain View's Visual Arts Committee invites professional artists and artist teams working in a variety of media to exhibit their work in the lobby of the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts (MVCPA) at 500 Castro Street, Mountain View, California, for the 2026-27 season. Exhibits are on view for approximately eight weeks and are seen by thousands of visitors attending MVCPA performances and events. The first exhibition is scheduled to begin on April 21, 2026, with exhibit hours Wednesday through Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and one hour prior to public performances.

Eligibility: Artists must be 18 years or older (artists under 18 may apply with an adult sponsor), reside in one of 11 San Francisco Bay Area counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, and Sonoma), and have not exhibited at the MVCPA within the past three years unless proposing a substantially new body of work. Applications must be submitted online via CaFÉ at www.callforentry.org and include a current resumé (no more than two pages), links to artist website and/or active social media accounts, and five to ten images with annotations (title, date, medium, dimensions, weight).

Exhibit Installation Requirements: Only framed, properly wired artwork ready for installation will be accepted. Artwork must be able to hang on the MVCPA's system with maximum dimensions of 60-inch width, 84-inch height, and 6-inch depth. Artwork should weigh no more than 20 pounds. Additional exhibition space may be available in the Mountain View City Hall Community Development Department Lobby (7-feet wide by 4-feet high; Alcove space: 4-feet wide by 2-feet high). Selected artists will receive a $250 stipend following completion of their exhibition and will be required to obtain a Business License with the City of Mountain View and provide a Form W-9 before entering into an agreement.
