About This Call
The 2026 Burwood Art Prize invites Sydney-based artists to submit work responding to this year's theme "I AM HERE." The prize encourages thoughtful reflections on cultural identity, personal narrative, and a celebration of the many voices that shape contemporary multicultural Australia.
The prize includes a $20,000 acquisitive award, offering artists the opportunity to have their work recognized and acquired for the Burwood Council Collection. Eligible categories include Craft/Traditional Arts, Photography, Drawing, Film/Video/New Media, Mixed-Media/Multi-Discipline, Painting, and Sculpture. Submissions are open to local artists based in Sydney.
