About This Call

The 2026 Art on Loan Program administered by the South Suburban Public Art Committee (SSPAC), a committee appointed by the South Suburban Park and Recreation District (SSPRD) Board of Directors, is accepting proposals to exhibit the sculptural artwork of artists that have at any time resided in the State of Colorado for a one-year period. The program is a year-long outdoor exhibit designed to promote public interest in art, develop community pride, and enhance the visitor experience at the Goodson Recreation Center (Centennial) and The Hudson Gardens & Events Center (Littleton). Selected art will be awarded $1,000 Exhibitor's Honorarium to each artist after the artwork is installed in May 2026.

SSPAC seeks applications for up to three sculptures to be placed outdoors at Goodson Recreation Center and up to two at The Hudson Gardens & Event Center. At Goodson, sculptures will be displayed on three existing concrete pads (36" in diameter and approximately 18" in height) located near the main entrance, each with an embedded steel plate (24" x 24" x 1/2") for welding. At Hudson Gardens, there are two outdoor pads that sit on the ground, each with the same embedded steel plate specifications. Sculptures must fit on the concrete pads provided and cannot exceed 4,000 pounds in overall weight.

Proposed sculptures must be appropriate for outdoor public display at a public facility and of high artistic quality. Sculptures must be an original work of the selected artist, durable, safe for public interaction and relatively maintenance-free. The artist will transport the artwork to and from the location and is responsible for all sales transactions, payment of applicable taxes, and payment of a 20% commission to SSPRD should the artwork be sold. Artists can submit up to 5 different pieces of art for consideration, one per application, with each application including three different images of the same work. Entry fee is $10.00 per application.
