2026 Annual Call for Art

The Phipps Center for the Arts invites visual artists to submit work for consideration for solo, two-person, and small group exhibition opportunities in the six professional exhibition spaces of the Phipps Galleries for the 2027-2028 season. The Phipps Center for the Arts is a multidisciplinary art center located in Hudson, Wisconsin. Artists may additionally choose to be considered for the Enriching Arts program, which brings original art to community exhibition locations, including healthcare and senior living facilities in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Submissions will be anonymously juried by the Arts Engagement Director and members of the Phipps Visual Arts Council, which includes artists, art professionals, and those with an interest in promoting the arts in the St. Croix Valley. Submissions will be evaluated based on creativity, technical skill, and overall impact. The Phipps welcomes traditional and non-traditional media, including painting, sculpture, digital art, photography, printmaking, drawing, fiber, ceramics, video, and installation. Artists of all backgrounds and media are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility: Artists must be 18 years of age or older, have not had an exhibition at the Phipps within the past two years, and submit artwork that has never been previously displayed at the Phipps. The application fee is $10. Artists accepted for a Phipps Galleries exhibition are asked to pay a $25 administrative fee. The Phipps produces exhibition postcards and gallery rack cards, provides marketing through social media and print channels, and hosts an opening reception. Phipps Galleries exhibitions will be scheduled July 2027-May 2028. Enriching Arts exhibitions are scheduled on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Notification of acceptance will be sent by 5/30/2026.
