2025 Wilmington Art Association 43rd Annual Juried Spring Art Show and Sale

The Wilmington Art Association's 43rd annual Art Show and Sale will be held March 28 through April 6, 2025 at the Hannah Block Historic Community Arts Center, 120 S. Second Street in Wilmington, NC. The show is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The opening award reception and awards ceremony will be held Friday, March 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A judge walkthrough for participating artists is scheduled for Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. This event takes place during the North Carolina Azalea Festival.

Eligibility: All participants must be current WAA members and at least 18 years old. Membership may be renewed or requested through the WAA website by the February 16 deadline. Artists may submit original two-dimensional work (including photography) or three-dimensional work in up to two categories, with only one image per category. Artwork must be original in conception, composition and implementation, completed after January 1, 2023, and not previously exhibited in any WAA shows. No kits, copies, collaborative works, replicas, giclee reproductions, furniture, jewelry, or work with nudity, erotic or violent themes will be accepted.

Entry fee is $40. Artists must submit 1-2 images through the online registration system. Registration opens January 6 and closes February 16 at 5 p.m. Applicants will be notified of acceptance status by February 27. Accepted artwork must be hand-delivered to the CAC on March 25 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. All entries must be for sale, and a 30% commission will be taken on sales. All accepted artists must volunteer for a shift during the show. Awards include Best in Show ($1,000), and in three categories: 1st Place ($400), 2nd Place ($250), and 3rd Place ($150), plus Honorable Mentions, The Princess's Award, The President's Award, and The People's Choice Award. Artwork must be picked up by 5:30 p.m. on April 6; a $50 late fee will be charged after 6 p.m.
