2025 West Texas Watercolor Society Signature Show

The West Texas Watercolor Society (WTWS) invites artists to submit work for the 2025 Signature Show, hosted by the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock, Texas. The exhibition runs from November 26, 2025 to January 11, 2026, with an opening reception during First Friday Art Trail on November 28, 2025 from 6 pm to 9 pm. The juror of selection and awards is Master Artist Kathleen Conover.

Eligibility is open to all WTWS members. Membership dues of $40 for 2025-2026 must be paid by November 4, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Entry fees are $20 for the first entry and $15 per entry thereafter, with a maximum of three entries. Artists may submit 1-3 images. Over $2,000 in cash awards will be distributed at the juror's discretion. All artwork juried into the show will be included in a color catalog, with a copy provided to each participating artist.

All paintings must be completed within the last two years using 90% water media (watercolor, gouache, acrylics, watercolor inks, acrylic inks, egg tempera, watercolor pencils, and watercolor crayons) on paper, yupo, Tyvek, water media board, or canvas. Original work only; class or workshop art and artwork previously entered in WTWS judged shows are not eligible. The minimum painted image size is 100 square inches; maximum outside framed size is 40 inches in either direction. Artwork must be ready to hang with wire using D-rings. No oils, water-soluble oils, alcohol inks, computer-generated art, digital media, photography, diptychs, triptychs, or paintings of nudes are accepted. No photo references that are derivatives of other artists' work are permitted unless you have permission. Accepted works must be delivered or shipped to the Buddy Holly Center by November 19, 2025. Local artists may hand-deliver between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; remote artists should ship via FedEx or UPS. Artists are welcome to sell their work but are not required to do so. With acceptance into three Signature exhibits and continuous paid membership, artists may use the letters WTWS following their signature.
