About This Call
The 10th Annual Great Wall of Honesdale is a public art project of the Wayne County Arts Alliance located at the intersection of 4th Street and Main Street in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. The exhibit will be displayed from June 2025 to June 2026, with more than five million cars passing the location annually. Selected artwork will be printed on twelve large-scale vinyl panels, each measuring 11 x 17 feet, and displayed virtually as a permanent feature on the GWH website with links to artist websites and social media accounts. There is no charge to selected entrants for reproduction, hanging, or supplies.
The 2025 theme is "CONNECTION." All interpretations are encouraged. Submissions must be horizontal (wider than high) and will be juried based on artistic quality, interpretation of the theme, and graphic strength. Entrants may submit up to three JPEG images (minimum 1,200 pixels on the longest side, up to 5MB each). A fourth image may be submitted for 3D work only. Selected artists must provide a high-resolution TIFF image (minimum 300 dpi and 5,000 pixels on longest side) within two weeks of notification, no later than May 15, 2025.
The entry fee is $30 for up to three entries. One of the twelve panels is reserved annually for a student entrant. Entrants previously selected in 2022, 2023, or 2024 are not eligible. The call opens February 3, 2025, with a deadline of midnight (MT) on March 31, 2025. Selected entrants will be notified by end of day (EST) on April 21, 2025. Upon completion of the exhibit, artists may keep their own GWH panel free of charge (shipping costs apply) or WCAA becomes the sole property owner of unclaimed panels. For questions, contact the GWH Curators at [email protected] up until two weeks prior to the submission deadline.
