About This Call
This auction is open to Salmagundi Club artist members only. Artists may submit up to 2 works in all mediums. Only work not previously offered at a Salmagundi Club auction will be accepted.
Artwork Requirements: Outside frame dimensions may not exceed 36". Sculptures should be no more than 30" high and 40 lbs maximum. All works must be professionally framed with wire for hanging, or professionally presentable for gallery display with appropriate mounting. If displaying under glass, plexi-glass is strongly advised to avoid breakage. The Salmagundi Club is not responsible for broken glass damage. Accepted work will remain in place through the auction and cannot be removed until it ends.
Pricing and Sales: Each artist must set their own fair market price. The opening bid will be 33% of the artist's set price (rounded up to the nearest bid increment). Bid increments start at $25 and increase based on price. 50% of the sale price of each painting sold will be automatically donated to the club. Artists have discretion to donate more than 50% up to 100% of proceeds. There will be no protective reserves other than the opening bid. No phone bids are accepted. Buyers pay for shipping, which will be handled by Live Auctioneers for online buyers.
Submission Requirements: Submit high-quality JPEG image files at least 1900 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Crop images to show only the artwork without matting, frames, or background. Ensure images are oriented correctly and well-lit. Artists are responsible for submitting accurate representations of their unframed and framed work. Entries can be edited until the submission deadline of February 17, 2025. After the deadline, no changes will be accepted. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
Acceptance and Delivery: Acceptance/Rejection emails will come from ShowSubmit. If accepted, artists may deliver work in-person during receiving days or ship with an expected arrival date of 1 week before the exhibition opens. Artists must include a return shipping label if work is to be shipped back after the exhibition. Accepted artists must print hangtags from their acceptance email, fill them out legibly, and attach them to each artwork before delivery. Shipped works must be sent in reusable shipping boxes for art with the exhibition name on the outside. Salmagundi members receive 10% off Air Float boxes; contact [email protected] for the member's discount code.
For questions about the prospectus, eligibility, artwork requirements, drop-off, pick-up, or sales, contact Del-Bourree Bach at [email protected]. For technical support with ShowSubmit, email [email protected] (Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm Eastern).
