2025 Southern Tier Biennial

The 2025 Southern Tier Biennial invites visual artists, 18 years or older, currently residing in New York State's Southern Tier (Allegany, Broome, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Steuben, Schuyler, Tioga, and Tompkins counties) to submit work for this juried exhibition. Artists may submit up to three original works completed within the past two years in any visual media. Work samples may include up to three images and/or three videos, with a minimum of one total sample required. No 2D work can exceed 72 inches in height or 60 inches in width; 3D submissions are limited to the same dimensions plus a 200-pound weight limit. The entry fee is $40.

The exhibition runs September 20 – October 18, 2025, at the Peg Bothner Gallery at the Tri-County Arts Council, 110 West State Street, Olean, NY 14760. Each accepted artist will receive a $175 stipend to help cover travel, shipping, and production costs. Five cash awards totaling $5,250 will be presented: $3,000 to the Best of Show winner (including a $2,000 stipend towards a solo show in Fall 2026), a $750 Juror's Choice Award, and $500 each for three Honorable Mention winners. The Best of Show winner will also receive a solo exhibition in Fall 2026 with a four-color catalog and a $2,000 stipend for show expenses. Accepted works will be reproduced in a color catalog.
