2025 Shoals Art Invitational Juried Exhibition

The University of North Alabama Elaine Bailey Augustine Art Gallery invites artists 18 or older residing in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia to participate in the second annual Shoals Art Invitational, a regional juried works-on-paper exhibition. Artists may submit up to three original works created within the past two years. Eligible media include drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, and mixed-media on paper or incorporating paper. Digital illustration and AI-generated images are not acceptable.

The entry fee is $35 for up to three entries. Digital submissions must be in JPEG or JPG format with a minimum of 1,200 pixels on the longest side and file size under 5 MB. The digital entry deadline is September 30, 2025. Artists will be notified of acceptance by October 6, 2025. Accepted works must be shipped by October 21, 2025, or hand-delivered between October 15–20 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.). The exhibition runs from October 28 to November 25, 2025, with a public reception and award recognition on October 31, 2025. Up to $6,000 is allocated for merit recognition and purchase awards. The juror is Carlyle Johnson, Professor of Art at Tennessee State University.
