About This Call
The 27th annual Peggy Doole National Small Works Exhibition will be held July 31st to August 31st at Washington Printmakers Gallery in Washington, DC. This is a juried national exhibition of contemporary printmaking that includes hand-pulled prints, screen prints, digital prints, fine art photographs, and three-dimensional work with print components. The exhibition honors Peggy Doole (1934-2021), a long-time resident of the metro D.C. area who pursued art history and had a special passion for printmaking.
Juror Margaret Winslow, Chief Curator and Curator of Contemporary Art at the Delaware Art Museum, will select works for exhibition. Prizes include a Grand Prize of $1000 and a Washington Print Foundation Prize of $500, with additional prizes to be announced. Only one artwork from each applicant will be selected for display.
Eligibility is open to artists 18 years of age or older residing in the United States, except current members of Washington Printmakers Gallery. A maximum of 3 original works created within the past 2 years may be entered. Entry fee is $35. Artists must submit 1-3 images, a resume/CV, brief biography, and brief artist statement. For two-dimensional work, images may be no larger than 120 square inches, with framed size no larger than 250 square inches. Three-dimensional work may be no more than 600 cubic inches. All work must be visibly signed by the artist and include edition numbers and certificate of authenticity for hand-pulled prints and photographs. Works must be priced for sale or marked POR (price on request) or NFS. Washington Printmakers Gallery will retain a 40% commission on all sales. Deadline for entries is July 3rd at 11:59 PM MDT. Accepted entrants will be notified by email on July 13th. Work should arrive between July 14-26, with installation on July 28th and the opening reception on August 2nd from 2-5 PM.
