2025 Olathe Outdoor Sculpture Series

The City of Olathe is seeking large-scale, three-dimensional sculpture entries or temporary art installations for its Outdoor Sculpture Series. The program plays a key role in furthering Olathe's vision to build community identity, activate public spaces, and foster connections through art. Selected sculptures will remain on display in Olathe for a one-year period.

A total of 7-9 sculptures will be selected by the Olathe Public Art Committee, with one sculpture receiving the "People's Choice" designation chosen by the community through public vote. Artists will receive a $2,500 honorarium for each work selected for a one-year lease. Sculptures must be suitable for long-term outdoor display, vandal-proof, safe to the public, and capable of being properly secured to the ground or concrete. Large, colorful, and interactive pieces are encouraged. The durability and size of the piece will be a consideration for selection.

Open to all artists 18 years of age and older. All entries must be original work. You may submit up to 3 sculptures on one application with at least 2 images of each sculpture, clearly labeled with the sculpture name. An entry fee of $10 is required. Entries must be received by January 2, 2025. Notice of selections will be sent February 27, 2025. Art delivery deadline is May 30, 2025, with exhibition opening June 1, 2025 and closing May 1, 2026. Artists are responsible for delivery and return of sculptures and all associated costs.
