2025 Mid-Atlantic Regional Watercolor Exhibition

The 2025 Mid-Atlantic Regional Watercolor Exhibition will be held at Arts Barn and Kentlands Mansion Galleries, 311 and 320 Kent Square Road, Gaithersburg, Maryland, from October 10, 2025 to January 11, 2026. Entries are accepted from June 6 to August 6, 2025. Artists will be notified of selection by August 29, 2025. The reception and awards presentation is scheduled for November 9, 2025, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

Eligibility: All Baltimore Watercolor Society (BWS) Signature and Life members may enter regardless of residence. Other artists must reside in Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, or West Virginia. Artists must be 18 years of age or older (or 16 years or older for BWS student members). Entry fee is $45 for nonmembers, $30 for BWS members, and $20 for BWS student members. An optional $5 donation supports the production of online and paper catalogs.

Artwork must be original watermedia paintings on paper, paperboard, or clayboard completed within the last five years and not previously exhibited in prior BWS Mid-Atlantic exhibitions. No side of the painting visible within the mat can be less than 10 inches. Frames must not exceed 48 inches in either height or width, and total weight for framed paintings must not exceed 35 lbs. All paintings must be framed in wood or metal with plain white, cream, or light gray mats. Paintings must be for sale with a 35% commission taken on all sales (30% for the gallery, 5% for BWS).

Awards include Gold Medal ($1,750), Silver Medal ($1,450), and Bronze Medal ($1,250). Additional Mid-Atlantic awards are expected to total more than $18,000 in cash, gift certificates, and merchandise. Joel Popadics (AWS, ASMA) is the juror of selection and awards. BWS will also award an Artists' Choice prize to the artist receiving the most online votes among BWS members and exhibition applicants. A PDF version of the exhibition catalog will be sent to all entrants.
