2025 KIA High School Area Show

The 2025 High School Area Show at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts is a juried exhibition for high school artists. The exhibition will be on view April 26 to May 25, 2025. Students in grades 9-12 who reside in the Michigan counties of Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, or Van Buren are eligible to participate. There is no entry fee.

Each student artist may submit up to two original works in any of the following media: 2-D Mixed Media, 3-D Mixed Media, Ceramics, Drawing/Pastels/Prints, Fiber/Leather, Glass, Jewelry, Metal/Sculpture, Painting, Photography, Printed Digital Art, or Wood. Works must not exceed 6 feet in any direction. AI-generated images and collaborative works are not eligible. Direct copies of existing works of art will not be accepted. Submissions must be made online by February 16, 2025 at midnight ET. Artists will be notified of acceptance via email between March 12-14, 2025.

Accepted artworks must be hand-delivered to the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts (314 S. Park St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007) between April 14-19. All wall-hung works must be framed with proper hanging devices; clip frames are not permitted. Work must remain on view for the duration of the exhibition and may not be removed before May 27, 2025. The awards ceremony and opening reception will be held April 25 at 5:30pm-8pm. Any artist whose work is accepted and consents to share their contact information is eligible for scholarships and awards from participating colleges and universities.
